Phillip Gibbs - that Tall Photographer
I am 6'6" tall, and forever doomed to be known as "That Tall Photographer" (if you can't beat 'em...) It has its advantages, like always being able to see the band at a concert, or never having to worry about reaching that old set of scales down from on top of the kitchen units.
Until recently I was a bit of a wondering spirit, galavanting off around the world, doing most of my travelling whilst working aboard international cruise ships... no tax, glamourous destinations, endless parties... I've given it up for all that Lancaster has to offer, in particular my loving, talented boyfriend Matthew.
My love affair with photography began printing in a chemist, a long story later I found myself working in a camera shop in New Zealand. Fast forward past the purchase of my first film SLR and keep going through a few years and wham! I'm leading a team of photographers onboard a floating hotel!
I loved the variety of work I did when I was the photography department manager. I was fortunate enough to photograph celebrities such as Jack Charlton, Iris Williams, Prunella Scales, Gary Rhodes and more. I was also lucky enough to amass an extensive travel portfolio featuring destinations the world over. It was a hard life...
Since becoming a land-luber again I've been working my socks off starting my own business. I've had a busy time, learned more than a little about web-design, taught some night classes and made a few new brides/mothers cry...in a good way!
My approach is friendly, smilely, informal and creative.
